Max Media's WOOZ-FM in Southern Illinois (Marion-Carbondale) just wrapped a record-breaking year for their St. Jude Radiothon with a final total of $331,148. This includes a record 4.8 million pennies and over $47K from auctions. In the 28-year history of the radiothon the station has raised $4.8 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Former WBZ talk show host Bob Raleigh has died at the age of 87. Raleigh worked for WBZ-AM for 23 years, joining the station in 1975. He retired in 1999.

Thunderbolt Radio President and General Manager Paul Tinkle will be inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame Saturday, August 6th at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Convention Center in Murfreesboro.
