The Alliance for Women in Media and its Foundation announced its 2022 National Board of Directors and Officers on Wednesday. Heather Cohen, from the Weiss Agency, will serve as Board Chair. Here's their entire lineup of broadcasting superstars.

Horizon Broadcasting has completed its $323K sale of WGSX-FM, Lynn Haven serving Panama City, to Gold Standard Broadcasting. Gold Standard had been operating the station under a Time Brokerage Agreement since the station returned to the air in June of 2017.  

The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters is out with its 2022 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards. A dozen awards were given to Audacy stations in the Keystone State.

For years many radio executives have been saying that the government needs to loosen ownership regulations in order for broadcasters to compete with the big digital companies like Facebook and Google who are now pocketing massive piles of local ad revenue dollars. NAB CEO Curtis LeGeyt continued that call yesterday.

Bob Pittman of iHeartMedia and David Field of Audacy will lead a NAB show session, "Transforming Radio in the Audio Renaissance". NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt will join the industry leaders for the April 25 session in Las Vegas.

The Cumulus Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon on Wilmington, NC, stations WGNI-FM, WMNX-FM and WWQQ-FM, raised $60,975 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The funds were raised over a 26-hour special radio broadcast.

Elaina Smith, Kelly Ford, and Ania Hammar will host the New Faces of Country Music® Show. The show will close out CRS 2022 February 25 in Nashville.

A young couple living in the Adirondack region of upstate New York, has turned to radio for help in starting a family. Andrea and Dave Hennessey are using 98.5 WCKM-FM, the Regional Radio Group Station in Glens Falls, NY to find a baby or babies to adopt.

105.3 KITS-FM HD2 will feature Alt Music hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. The relaunch is being branded as "Classic Live 105".

94.7 WCSX-FM in Detroit is bringing back a promotion it first ran 17 years ago to benefit a local charity. "Big Jim’s House Stone Soup Project" will rebuild a classic vehicle that will be raffled off to benefit 'Vets Returning Home'.
