CRB Board Of Directors Elections
The Country Radio Broadcasters have completed their elections for the organization’s 2022-2023 Board of Directors. Returning to CRB Officer positions are Kurt Johnson (Townsquare Media) as President, John Shomby as Vice President, and Beverlee Brannigan as Secretary.
New Music Rights Company Launch
Litmus Music is a partnership between two music industry veterans and an investment capital company. Hank Forsyth and Dan McCarroll are teaming up with Carlyle Global Credit to acquire and manage music rights, including both music publishing and recorded music, across genres, geographies and vintages.
Media Monitors Accreditation Extended
The Media Rating Council has continued its accreditation for Media Monitors radio and TV spot data service. Media Monitors provides near real-time intelligence on radio, television, cable, print and display internet.
Helping Charleston School Kids
Cumulus Charleston radio stations and local non-profit iServeWithJoy are collecting donations of school supplies for area children in need. Z93 JAMZ/WWWZ-FM and Magic 107.3/WMGL-FM “5th Annual 843 Day” is a daylong event helping kids heading back to school.
National Murrow Winners TBA
The Radio Television Digital News Association will announce the winners of the 2022 National Edward R. Murrow Awards next week. The announcement will be live at 2 p.m. ET Thursday, August 11.
Masters Sales Summit Honors The Best
The 30th anniversary Radio Wayne Awards will be celebrated during the Radio Masters Sales Summit this fall. Radio’s symbol of excellence and achievement in sales, marketing, and management will be presented live in Miami September 22-23 in Miami.
Journalism Bill Held Over Until Fall
This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced a markup of the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act. While scheduled for markup today, due to committee rules the bill is expected to be held over until after the August recess.
Stop Violence Awareness Walk
WGKB-FM (Waukesha, Wisconsin) host and community activist Tory Lowe walked from Milwaukee to Chicago to raise awareness to stop violence. The 7th Annual Stop the Violence Peace Walk spanned over four days and covered was over 80 miles in total.
