Talks Begin Thursday In Philadelphia
According to a statement put out by SAG-AFTRA, bargaining between the union and Entercom begins Thursday at KYW-AM in Philadelphia. Thursday’s talks are being overseen by a federal mediator.
LeGeyt Assumes Leadership of NAB
Curtis LeGeyt has taken over as President and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters. His Senior Leadership team has also started work, including a newly created Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff positions.
What Is In Radio’s Future?
That will be the topic at the NAB next week, moderated by Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs. CBS Dumps All-News Format in DC
It's an expensive format to make work, especially in the shadow of D.C. powerhouse WTOP. The all-news station CBS (WNEW-FM 99.1) launched about four years ago has been dumped and turned over to Bloomberg Radio. It's Bloomberg's first FM station for the format and it will be called Bloomberg 99.1. CBS says all local employees that worked at the station were released Friday morning at 10 a.m.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee's Communications and Technology Subcommittee has set a date for their hearing on AM radio's importance in new cars. The hearing will discuss the role of AM radio and address concerns over its removal from certain vehicles.
