The opening reception for the annual radio event, hosted by the RAB and NAB, is tonight at 4PM at the JW Marriott in Austin. Sessions begin at 2PM. 110 people in all were arrested in Seattle, for allegedly soliciting prostitution. It was a long-time undercover operation called "Operation On Demand" that ended the past Friday. Mitch Levy hosts mornings on iHeartMedia's sports talker KJR in Seattle. The 50 year old was arrested August 26 and posted $500 bail. He was charged with a misdemeanor of patronizing a prostitute.

The National Radio Hall of Fame will debut its “100 Years of Radio” exhibit at the Chicago Museum of Broadcast Communications in the fall of 2019, the year leading up to the official anniversary. Here are the details

Binnie Media is moving its national ad sales representation to Gen Media Partners. As part of the agreement, Binnie Media’s Boston office will handle all national business for Gen Media Partners. Jimmie Vereault will handle national ad sales for Gen Media Partners out of the Boston office.

The launch was September 1 and the station can be heard on heritage signals that include 600AM, 1200AM and other Curtis Media AM and FM frequencies. WSJS will be a full-market Sports Talk outlet in the Greensboro/High-Point/Winston-Salem market.

SB Nation Radio is launching The Sports Grind, today, 3-5 p.m. ET. The show will be hosted by the CEO of Sports Grind Entertainment, Calvin Casey, along with co-hosts Rudy J and Salami. The San Antonio-based program will air on its flagship station, Ticket 760, as well as dozens of affiliates nationwide.

Alpha Media has launched G 105.5 “Myrtle Beach’s Throwback Station!” WRNN-AM 1450/105.5, previously ESPN, will play throwbacks like The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, and Destiny’s Child.

The cluster of New 103.7, Kiss 95.1, Power 98, V 101.9, 94.7 SMOKE, and K 104.7 are partnering with Metrolina Greenhouse and Circle K to collect items for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. On Wednesday all six stations will broadcast live at Circle K (6519 Brookshire Blvd.) in Charlotte to collect the much needed items.

It was only a matter of time before one of radio's loudest cheerleaders came to the defense of the industry after the release of the Larry Miller report (shouldn't more radio executives do the same?). In a new blog called "Surprise: A Slam Piece On AM/FM Radio Gets It Wrong," Cumulus/Westwood One Chief Insights Officer Pierre Bouvard says Miller's report incorrectly asserts the demise of AM/FM radio among younger Americans.
