Longtime New York City radio personality Pat Prescott is expanding her public radio program, Favorite Things, into national syndication with Jazz 88.3 (WBGO). Prescott has hosted the show on the Newark Public Radio signal since 2022.

Prescott’s radio career began in New Orleans at WYLD before moving on to New York, where she spent 23 years working with stations like WBLS, WLIB, and CD 101.9. In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles to co-host mornings on CBS Radio’s 94.7 The Wave, where she worked alongside saxophonist Dave Koz and singer/songwriter Brian McKnight.

Favorite Things showcases Prescott’s favorite songs and artists, usually on a daily theme. The show features interviews with musicians and celebrities who share their favorite things, adding a personal touch to each broadcast.

The first Favorite Things affiliate is Clark University’s WCLK in Atlanta.

WBGO President and CEO Steve Williams commented, “National distribution of Favorite Things is a continuation of WBGO’s strategy to share its successful content with stations across the country as we have for many years, via programs such as Jazz Set and Jazz Night in America,” said . “For the past two years, Favorite Things has been our most popular weekday program and now it’s time to give the rest of the world an opportunity to hear Pat Prescott’s innovative, engaging, and informative approach to presenting jazz.”

Pat Prescott said, “I have survived all the radical changes in broadcasting during that period plus I’ve worked in three of the finest cities in America: New Orleans, New York, and Los Angeles. Today I couldn’t be more excited about adding a fourth amazing location as I prepare to debut my new radio program on WCLK in Atlanta. It’s a city that means a lot to me because I have so many friends and family members there and because it’s one of the most exciting hubs in the country for media and entertainment.”
