On Black Friday, iHeartMedia Miami unveiled a new fusion format on WMIA, Magic 93.9. The station blends English and Spanish-language hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s with Spanish-language on-air personalities.

With the tag “Tus Favoritas de Siempre,” WMIA now features a mix of artists like Whitney Houston, Marc Anthony, Madonna, and Shakira. The station’s lineup of talent includes El Gato, Ailyn Luaces, Tony Vargas, and Santiago Duarte. The station is stunting the launch with 10,000 songs played in a row without commercials.

iHeartLatino President Enrique Santos said, “In Miami, the music of the ‘80s and ‘90s played a significant role in shaping the cultural landscape. The diverse population, including a large Spanish-speaking community, embraced the vibrant sounds of that time. The new Magic 93.9 will be a unifying sound aiming to provide a listening experience you just can’t find anywhere else in the United States.”

iHeartMedia Miami-Fort Lauderdale Market President Shari Gonzalez commented, “It’s thrilling to bring this format, this sound to South Florida. It’s a station that speaks to both the heart and soul of its audience, offering a unique blend of English and Spanish that resonates deeply with the diverse Hispanic community in Miami.”
