Indie Labels and Artists Arise For The Secretly Society Podcast

0

On Tuesday, Secretly Group launched the second season of its Secretly Society podcast. Building on its successful first season, which delved into the careers of artists like Jason Molina and Jens Lekman, Secretly Society returns to explore untold stories from the independent music scene.

The new season promises a star-studded lineup featuring artists such as Cherry Glazerr, Jamila Woods, and Kevin Morby, among others. The series aims to give listeners an insider’s view into the histories of record labels such as Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Saddest Factory Records, and Secretly Canadian.

One of the season’s highlights is expected to be a four-part mini-series focusing on DeYarmond Edison, the band that led to the formation of Bon Iver and Megafaun.

The two-episode premiere kicks off with a deep dive into the transformation of Dead Oceans, a label that has become the go-to platform for alternative artists like Japanese Breakfast, Mitski, and Phoebe Bridgers. The episode also features an artist profile segment with Jagjaguwar’s Jamila Woods, who will discuss her musical journey and new LP.

Episodes are scheduled to be released bi-weekly on all podcast platforms.
