Charlotte sports hosts Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio, who were recently and unexpectedly let go from their Capitol Broadcasting Company radio show The OG, aren’t waiting for an offer from another station. The duo is taking their show to Ovies & Giglio, a new podcast under their own brand, The OG Live Podcast Co.
Ovies & Giglio will air tri-weekly on YouTube and major podcasting platforms. They will continue local ACC football and basketball, Carolina Panthers, and Carolina Hurricanes coverage. Capitol Broadcasting had announced its intention to replace The OG with a show featuring a single host.
Giglio expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from listeners and sources, including coaches, administrators, and team owners, which inspired them to venture out on their own. He will also host an NC State podcast, while Ovies will focus on a beer podcast, both similar to the popular podcasts they previously did with Capitol Broadcasting.
