Arizona Broadcasters Hall of Famer Bobby Rich is calling it a career after more than five decades in radio. Rich announced his retirement on Wednesday, stepping away from his latest gig as morning co-host at 101.7 The Drive (KDRI) in Tucson.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to entertain, inform and make listeners happy for over 50 years,” Rich told local news station KOLD-TV. “I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals and make so many great memories. I’m excited to begin the next chapter of my life and see what the future holds.”

Starting his career in Seattle as a teenager, Rich later gained recognition and awards for his role as Program Director and Morning Show Host on KFMB in San Diego and KMXZ in Tucson. Throughout the 70s and 80s, Rich was Program Director of WXLO in New York City and KHTZ in Los Angeles.  In the 90s, Rich served as VP/General Manager and morning show host for KMGI/KIXI in Seattle before relocating to Tucson in 1992 where he spent his time at KMXZ until 2017. In 2021, he helped launch KDRI with Fletcher McCusker and Jim Arnold.
