Author D.X. Ferris has started Talkin’ Slayer: A Podcast And Half-Assed Audiobook, the first podcast dedicated entirely to the thrash metal band Slayer. The podcast will serve as an expanded audiobook version of his biography “Slayer 66 & 2/3: A Metal Band Biography, Postmortem Remastered Edition.”
The podcast will feature weekly episodes beginning on Tuesday, May 2, the tenth anniversary of the death of Slayer’s co-lead guitarist Jeff Hanneman. The first episodes will delve into Hanneman’s life, personality, and influence on the band.
Ferris’s research for the podcast includes original interviews with band members, friends, and rivals, as well as archival material from various sources. He insists that Talkin’ Slayer is focused on the band and avoids excessive ads or personal anecdotes.
