In the 1990s, radio broadcasters were being hunted and assassinated in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. To this day, the killers were never found. Now Kaleidoscope and iHeartPodcasts have partnered with the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) to launch an investigative podcast series called Silenced: The Radio Murders.
The eight-part series is co-hosted by Oz Woloshyn and Ana Arana, and sheds light on the context and potential motives for the killings, including cocaine trafficking among the Haitian military. The podcast aims to highlight the impact of impunity on immigrant communities and the importance of free speech. New episodes of Silenced release every Thursday until June 22.
