It’s called The Best Show Ever? and will feature Tyrone Johnson, Ricky Bottalico, Hunter Brody and Jennifer Scordo. The new show on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia takes over the 2 p.m – 6 p.m. slot previously occupied by The Mike Missanelli Show.
Missanelli and Beassley decided to part ways last month. He was with the station for 15 years.
The Best Show Ever? will officially debut Monday, August 1st from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. NBC Sports Philadelphia will televise the show live.
Host Tyrone Johnson – a 20-year broadcasting professional, Ricky Bottalico – a former 11-year Major League Baseball relief pitcher and NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst, Hunter Brody – a new age, digital sports-media influencer and Jennifer Scordo – a seasoned major market radio pro and air talent, will join together to bring a show that offers something for every Philly sports fan!
“When you put long time Fanatic personality Tyrone Johnson together with social media star Hunter Brody and former Phillies pitcher Ricky Botalico, then mix in “Ring Master” Jenn Scordo, you’re going to have some exciting afternoons on the Fanatic,” said Beasley Media Group Vice President and Market Manager Joe Bell.
“Philadelphia fans are the best fans ever and they deserve ‘The Best Show Ever?’,” said 97.5 The Fanatic Program Director Chuck Damico. “We look forward to this diverse group of passionate sports experts providing some of the most entertaining sports talk in Philadelphia.”
When Cataldi retires, the Morning Show will face the same issue. Al, Rhea etc. are complementary figures but Angelo is the reason why people listen. There is NO show without him and Missanelli has the same effect with his fans. Having said that, I predict the new shot on the Fanatic will be very short-lived.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Mike but at least he generated interest and could be the best of the best at times. Ricky is annoying to listen to and generates no interest for me. I have no idea who Hunter Brody even is. Tyrone and Jennifer seem like nice people but Mike was clearly the entire reason why people dialed in.
