Richard “Box” Bachschmidt worked for 105.5 The Bridge in Charleston up until this past February. He was quoted in The Charleston Scene saying, “If the coaches don’t care enough to make their team look their best and play their best and win, then I’m going free agent.” He went on to start his own podcast.
Bachschmidt was reported missing this week and he was found dead Friday by police. According to The Post & Courier, the Charleston County sheriff’s deputies found his body in his vehicle parked in a wooded area. There were no signs of foul play. He was last seen Tuesday when he told his roommate he’d be right back.
The newspaper also reported that Bachschmidt had been battling depression.
