Muller Makes Nice With Nyren

According to Chicago media writer Robert Feder, Mancow Muller has dropped his lawsuit against Cumulus Market Manager Marv Nyren (pictured here). According to Feder, Muller sued Nyren shortly after he was hired by Cumulus in November, claiming he had “suffered emotionally and physically with the prospect that Nyren will continue his efforts to retaliate against him.”

Muller is the morning man on Cumulus’ WLUP-FM in Chicago. On Wednesday, when Muller returned from vacation, he confirmed that he dropped the lawsuit after having a meeting with the new boss.

Feder details the Muller court filing where the morning host recounted numerous incidents when Nyren fired Muller from Emmis owned WKQX-FM, where Nyren was the manager at the time.

In 2007, Muller sued Nyren and Emmis for $6 million for allegedly making false and disparaging statements as part of a “pattern of malicious acts” against Muller. That suit was settled in 2011.

Muller tells Feder, “I’m excited about our relationship in 2018. Our relationship a decade ago was awful. But people change, and I really believe he’s a sincere cat who’s looking after my best interests.” Nyren added he was glad to be working with Mancow again and appreciating his talents and all he means to Cumulus Chicago without any distractions. “No one is a bigger fan of his show today more than me.”
