A Golden Day For Kelly

iHeartMedia Charleston’s Kelly Golden will receive the Key to the City of Charleston, Thursday, June 1 in the Council Chambers of Charlston at 10:30 a.m. It’s a great achievement for the morning personality at News Radio 94.3 WSC. The honor is for her tireless efforts in bringing pertinent information to her community and providing resources to listeners in momentous times of need. Golden has reported on historic events such as the tragic shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the “1,000-year” catastrophic floods and, most recently, Hurricane Matthew. Throughout her award-winning career she has donated over 20 years of service in support of local non-profits, including MUSC Children’s Hospital, Lowcountry Food Bank, Trident United Way, Fisher House Charleston, Ronald McDonald House, and many more.

“Kelly Golden embodies what we all aspire to be when it comes to local community service and radio broadcasting as a whole,” said Alene Grevey, Area President for iHeartMedia Charleston. “This much-deserved award is the result of her 20-plus years of striving to make Charleston and the Lowcountry a better place to live. Congratulations, Kelly!”
