PodcastOne is entering the virtual reality space with a new platform called PodcastOne 360, by partnering with Mandt VR. PodcastOne founder and Executive Chairman Norm Pattiz stated, “Virtual reality is the future of entertainment, and Mandt VR’s leading technology delivers quality video, and in large quantities. This is key when you churn out about 350 podcast episodes weekly.” The Adam Carolla Show will be the first podcast available to listeners on PodcastOne 360.
In this venture, PodcastOne and Mandt VR will introduce a 360-video podcast consumption option for its programming. The following is from the joint press release: “Planning to produce more than 200 original 360-video experiences, the partners are slated to become the largest producers of high-quality, serialized virtual reality content in the world. Additionally, the partners will develop a proprietary camera system, specifically for PodcastOne’s high-volume production. The PodcastOne 360 platform extension will also serve brands and media buyers with additional integration opportunities in the podcast medium.”
