(By Matty Staudt) If you recently lost your job, you may be hoping you can create a podcast that will make you a decent living. That sounds great, but I want to caution you to really do your homework first.

Double Elvis Productions has launched About A Girl, a new iHeartRadio Original podcast that chronicles the women behind the scenes of music’s greatest icons.

With 20 million more weekly downloads, despite having hundreds of fewer active shows, NPR is still the most listened to podcast network, according to Triton. Stitcher is a distant second on the Triton chart. It's important to note that Triton does not include the iHeartMedia Podcast Network in their reporting. 

iHeartMedia and celebrity podcast network Cloud10 Media have signed a new 2-year production and distribution deal. All existing and upcoming Cloud10 Media podcasts will now be distributed by the iHeartPodcast Network and promoted across all iHeart platforms.

It's a different twist for the True Crime category. Corus Entertainment’s podcast network Curiouscast has launched a new investigative podcast Whatever Happened To…?.

Podcasts by creators such as Martha Debayle and TED en Español are now available to customers for the first time at no additional cost and across all tiers of service.

Sheila Eldridge is expanding her multimedia empire with the launch of the Mocha Podcasts Network. This platform will be a destination for multicultural women seeking authentic voices and perspectives. Eldridge is also the CEO of The Mocha Radio Network.

ESPN Cleveland (WKNR/WWGK) has added The Rebound with Emmett Golden to its podcast stable. Emmett currently hosts The Next Level every weekday from 3 to 6 pm alongside Jerod Cherry on 850 ESPN Cleveland, as well as Primetime every Saturday on the ESPN Radio Network.

Recording artist, YouTube regular and entrepreneur Kesha has linked up with iHeart for a new podcast. Kesha And The Creepies launches November 20.

iHeartMedia has launched a limited four episode podcast series featuring inspiring stories of four veterans. Vets You Should Know is hosted by Bobby Bones.
