77WABC and its owners, John and Margo Catsimatidis, are set to honor iconic radio personality Cousin Brucie, aka Bruce Morrow, for his six-decade-long career in a special gala on September 7 in New York City.

The 74-year old Steve Somers had been with the sports station all 34 years of its existence. On Wednesday WFAN announced two shows that will fill in the 7-hour nightly shift Somers covered.

CBA, CMA Awards winner and a member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame, Brian Gary, will be back behind the mic at 1310 KFKA. Gary, who spent 30 years at KUAD-FM; will host afternoons starting July 19.

Chicago Blackhawks radio team member, Troy Murray has been diagnosed with cancer. The former Blackhawks Center is the long-time color analyst on the WGN radio broadcasts.

KRRO-FM has hired Denzil Bursey as its new PM driver and APD. Bursey joins Midwest Communications from iHeartradio in Detroit. He's also worked in the Atlanta market. Bursey said, "I'm glad to have found a new home in Sioux Falls and start a new chapter in my broadcasting career. I'm excited to get started, even though it's cold as hell and the wind doesn't seem to stop blowing."

Author, podcast and social media talent Charlie Kirk has signed on for a daily talk show on the Salem Radio Network. The Charlie Kirk Show will air daily from Noon-3 PM starting October 5.

The Ace & TJ Show has promoted longtime show producer Rob Miller to the newly created role of Vice President of Affiliate Relations for the show. Miller has represented the show in its affiliate needs for production and technical support for over five years. 

Envision Networks is now syndicating Doug Stephan’s Good Day program. Stephan airs live every weekday from 4 to 10 a.m. EST and Saturdays 7 to 9 a.m. EST on over 200 stations. Stephan has been self syndicating for the past several years.

The K-Star Talk Radio Network has added radio host Ron Edwards’ syndicated talk radio program. The Ron Edwards American Experience, is a one-hour live highlight of information, history, and current events with a Christian conservative perspective.

Dave “DG” Gillen is the new Program Director at WEBR-1440, Buffalo. Gillen, has been serving as National Sales Manager for the station since it launched in July.
