Hamilton Signs Extension With Alpha Portland

News director and morning show co-host Shelia Hamilton at Alpha's KINK in Portland has signed an extension on a multi-year deal. The five-time Emmy-winner began her career in documentary film before producing and reporting two-decades of television investigative news for such television stations as Portland’s KATU and Salt Lake City's KTVX. She was also voted Best Radio Personality in 2013.

It’s Mosser For Mornings At KGSR Austin

Chris Mosser will start hosting mornings on Emmis' KGSR-FM (AAA) starting Wednesday, July 6. Austin listeners might already recognize Mosser’s voice as he was most recently the AM Drive and Program Director for 103.1 iHeart Austin and PM Drive and Texas Regional Programming Director for KVET-FM.

Little Rock News Anchor Dies

Cumulus news station KARN in Little Rock reported on its website that anchor Donna Kelley passed away over the weekend from natural causes. She was 66. Market Manager Keith Liesmann wrote, "All of us at Cumulus are tremendously saddened by the sudden and shocking passing of Donna Kelley. Donna was an outstanding reporter/anchor who served with the highest degree of journalistic integrity at KARN for a decade and a half."

Harrison Joins KRLD Morning Team

Melissa Harrison will join Mike Rogers and Scott Sams as co-anchor of the KRLD (Dallas) morning news beginning Friday, July 1. Harrison has worked as a television news reporter in New York, Dallas, Birmingham, Jackson, Waco, and Abilene. She was most recently a freelance reporter for KXAS-TV in Dallas.

Cochran Staying With WGN

WGN in Chicago has signed a contract extension with Steve Cochran through 2020. He's hosted mornings since 2013. Cochran has also worked early morning hours in Miami, Baltimore, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and New York City. The Cochran Morning Show team includes co-anchor and reporter Andrea Darlas, news by Steve Grzanich, sports by Dave Eanet, and traffic by Mary Van De Velde.

Todd Manley Extends With WGN

The VP of Content & Programming has extended his contract with the Chicago station through 2019. GM Jimmy de Castro said, “Todd makes it fun to come to work every day. He’s a content musician that drives our incredible spoken-word content across a multitude of platforms.” Manley has held his VP position at WGN since 2013. He's also worked at WXRT in Chicago and KTRS in St. Louis.

iHeart Nashville Adds Digital PD

iHeartMedia Nashville is bringing on Morgan Huelsman as Digital Program Director. Huelsman will work with the iHeart Nashville programming and sales teams regarding the cluster's mobile content strategy. Previously, Huelsman served as the Digital Content Director for iHeart's four stations in Wichita.

Cumia Pleads Guilty To Assault

This goes back to the December 2015 charges against the former Opie & Anthony host. He pleads to two misdemeanor charges of assaulting his girlfriend, third-degree assault, and blocking someone’s breathing. Newsday reports Cumia will have to do six months of outpatient alcohol abuse treatment and a six-month batterer’s intervention program. Cumia is 55. His girlfriend at the time was 26.

It’s The End For Alyssa Page

107.7 The End, Entercom's Alternative station in Seattle, has pegged Page to host middays, replacing Pepper who left a few months ago. She comes to Seattle after covering weekends and swing shifts at Cumulus' Rock 100.5 in Atlanta. She'll also be responsible for social media at the station.

Capitol Broadcasting To Debut New AM Show

Buzz Sports Radio in Raleigh-Durham will debut The Sports Shop with Reese & Kmac Tuesday, July 5. The Sports Shop will be the first African-American sports talk morning show in the Raleigh-Durham market. The show, which is billed as "urban sports radio," moves from its current 10 a.m. to noon timeslot to morning drive, and replaces The Morning Show with Mike, Lauren & Demetri.
