Veteran Lexington News Anchor joins WEKU

Sam Dick is now reporting for WEKU-FM. The return to radio comes after Dick retired from his WKYT in November after a long career anchoring at the Lexington CBS affiliate. WEKU is headquartered at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.

Dayton Sports Host Passes

Former Dayton Sports radio host Mark Schlemmer died Monday at the age of 65. WING-AM made the announcement on Facebook. Schlemmer had open heart surgery in April and had been hospitalized since the surgery. He retired in 2018 due to health issues.

Shawn Knight, owner of Knight Broadcasting, was killed in a paragliding accident in eastern Ventura County California. Knight Broadcasting owns and operates KRAZ-FM Santa Ynez, KSYV-FM Solvang and KUHL in Santa Maria.
