Jose Dante Parra is the CEO of Prospero Latino. He's a Democratic strategist and was a senior advisor to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. As the opening keynote speaker at the Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference, Tuesday, Para told attendees political candidates need to use radio and, he said, the R.O.I. candidates get from radio is huge. He said radio is what helped get Senator Harry Reid re-elected in Nevada. We spoke to Para after his keynote about what radio needs to do to get more political advertising revenue. WATCH HERE.

Popular singer, songwriter, and actor Jencarlos Canela stopped by the Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference on Tuesday to heap praise on the radio industry and program directors. Canela, who recently played Jesus Christ on Fox's original live musical The Passion, said his dream was to hear his song played on the radio. "It's every artist's dream. The first time I heard my song I cried. It was an incredible moment." Canela credited his popularity to radio having faith in new artists, setting trends, and being willing to take risks.

2016 Medallas de Cortez Award Winners Announced

Pezzano joins Cumulus from Dix Communications in Kent, OH, where he was VP for Advertising Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, he was Advertising Director for The Blade in Toledo.
