On Thursday Mark Ramsey Media Managing Member Mark Ramsey presented new research to CRS 2020 attendees. The goal of his research was to help PD’s understand their audience better and to bust a few myths about the country radio listener. We caught up with Ramsey shortly after he made his presentation.

Veteran broadcaster Kevin Battle will join The KDKA Radio Morning News with Larry Richert on March 9 at KDKA-AM in Pittsburgh.

Entercom Chief Digital Officer J.D. Crowley will receive the NAB Digital Leadership Award at the 2020 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The award presentation will take place at the Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner on Monday, April 20 at the Encore in Las Vegas.

David Corey (WKLB Boston), Johnny Chiang (KKBQ Houston), and Nate Deaton (KRTY San Jose) all say their stations do not shy away from playing female artists and they hope this year the rest of the industry will follow their lead.

Syndicated radio host Lon Helton received the Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award at the Country Radio Seminar, Wednesday night. The award recognizes an individual in the Country radio industry who has given back to their community.

Jade Springart has been promoted to Assistant Program Director and Midday Host at Beasley’s 101 WRIF in Detroit. Springart has been with the station for the past 12 years.

Entercom Miami has entered into a multiyear contract extension with on-air personality Jonathan Zaslow. The host will remain on AM 790 The Ticket (WAXY-AM) midday show Zaslow and Amber.
