NPR notified affiliates Monday that after nearly 35 years The Best of Car Talk will come to an end this fall. NPR will continue to make The Best of Car Talk podcast available every week, with enhancements coming in the fall.

Former KCBS Host Dies

Dave McQueen began his radio career in the 1960s in Texas, eventually joining underground Bay Area radio station KSAN by the end of the decade. He was a fixture in the Bay area until his retirement in 2009, working at KCBS, KKSF, KFRC and KKCY. McQueen was 78.
