As the NAB fights to get more members of Congress to sign onto the Local Radio Freedom Act, The House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on its Respecting Artists with the American Music Fairness Act. The hearing is at 10AM this coming Wednesday. CLICK HERE to see where your member of Congress stands on the issue.

On February 5th, college students Zachary Sinutko and Collin Kennedy, who work at WJCU-FM in Cleveland, will try to break the Guiness World Record for longest consecutive radio interview. The record is 25 hours and 26 minutes.

On Wednesday, Hope Media Group and WAY Media announced their plan to merge into one organization. Hope was founded 40 years ago with KSBJ-FM in Houston WAY Media was formed 35 years ago with WAYJ-FM in Fort Myers. The merger is a cash-free transaction.

Last November 51.4% of Richmond residents voted against building a new $565 million Casino, on the south side of the city, backed by Urban One. Last night the Richmond City Council voted 8-1 to put the proposal on the ballot for another vote.
