AL Governor Recognizes 75 Year Old AM Station
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has declared May 16 as RadioAlabama's 75 Years of Broadcast Excellence Day to commemorate the group's first radio station's anniversary. WMLS-AM, now WYEA-AM, was founded in Sylacauga in 1948 by four young veterans.

Beasley Media Group's late founder, George Beasley, and his daughter, CEO Caroline Beasley, were among the honorees at the 2023 Broadcasting + Cable Hall of Fame Gala. While not inducted into the Hall, another important name to radio was honored during the ceremony in NYC.
Rural Broadcast Voices Speak Up For AM
On Thursday, the NAB shared a letter from the Board of Directors of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting to Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow in favor of AM staying in automobiles for rural ranchers and farmers. Sen. Stabenow is chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
