The reason for the apology was for putting callers on the air who were telling Polish jokes during Dyngus Day, which is very popular in Buffalo. The Dyngus Day website says it's an annual event in Buffalo, "is to celebrate spring, show Polish pride, flirt with pussy willows and listen to the best polka bands in the nation."

Another sign radio's revenue tide is turning positive. Salem Media reported Q4 same station broadcast revenue decreased only 4% to $47.7 million from $49.8 million in Q4 of 2019. Broadcast revenue increased 5.9% compared to the third quarter of 2020.
