Sheletta Brundridge is one amazing American. After Hurricane Laura hit Louisiana, where she used to live, the Minnesota radio host wanted to do something to help the Louisiana community. Keep this in mind, Brundridge lost 5 family members to carbon monoxide after the hurricane.

(By Randy Lane) Syndicated shows have proven that great shows can succeed with zero local content. Radio is experiencing another burst in syndication this year. Concurrently, we see the appeal of local content rising.

WJKK in Jackson, owned by New South Radio, started playing all Christmas music Friday. The station press release said, "We knew with a global pandemic, depression for many, massive remote working and an election that was divisive to say the least, people could use something positive and “feel good”.  

It's the 21st year Q109 will carry Christmas music in Central and South Texas. When the station is not spreading holiday cheer, the AC station is playing "The Best Variety of the 80’s, 90’s and Today."

Entercom’s 99.9 KISW (KISW-FM) is preparing for a virtual version of the sixth annual Live Day. The event is being promoted as "High Wire" radio.

Thanks to a Local Marketing Agreement, Urban One in Columbus, OH has entered the local Hispanic market. The company will assume operating responsibility for WWCD-FM 102.5 from Southern Ohio Broadcasting System.

With the cancellation of March Madness in 2020, Cumulus says the rights fees for the 2020 season should not have to be paid. The NCAA disagrees. As a result of non-payment, the NCAA cancelled its contract with Cumulus. In September Cumulus and the NCAA filed competing lawsuits regarding the dispute.

Entercom is acquiring three stations from Urban One: WPHI-FM in Philadelphia, Hot 104.1 (WHHL-FM) in St. Louis and 980 The Team (WTEM-AM) in Washington D.C. In exchange, Entercom is trading its Charlotte stations to Urban One.
