Pirate Act Gets New Life In Congress
You have to wonder if pirate radio operators have been given at least a temporary reprieve during this lengthy government shutdown and the FCC being closed for business. Democratic Congressman Paul Tonko isn't too keen on allowing that to happen.
iHeart Asks For More Time
iHeartMedia has filed a document with the bankruptcy court requesting an extension, "within which the debtors may remove actions." The company is requesting they be given until at least June 7 to resolve time-sensitive matters critical to their restructuring. iHeart has received approval for several similar extension requests.
Twitter Bans Lars Larson
The ban was for 12 hours for the syndicated host and the reason Twitter gave Larson was hate speech. Larson says he was simply replying to an activist who lashed out at Portland police.

Cumulus Gets Important Analyst Upgrade
Noble Financial Director of Research Michael Kupinski has upgraded the company from market perform to outperform. He believes the stock could go as high as $14.00. Cumulus closed at $10.71 Tuesday. In a note to investors this week Kupinski highlighted Cumulus' restructured debt, and advertiser guarantees as reasons for his upgrade.

Rep firm Gen Media Partners has purchased Regional Reps and The Tacher Company. The acquisitions come on the heels of Gen Media Partners’ recent purchase of the Sun Broadcast Group Network bringing Gen's roster of radio stations it represents to 4,000.
