2020 marks the 24th year that Radio Ink will produce the annual list of the 40 Most Powerful People in Radio. Historically, the "Top 40" list has always appeared in the July issue of Radio Ink Magazine.

Jim Ryan. Chris Conley and Thea Mitchem are Radio's Top Three Program Directors for 2020. Radio Ink Publisher Deborah Parenti and McVay Media President Mike McVay unveiled Radio's Top Ten PD's in a special Facebook Live event Monday. (By Ed Ryan) April 2020 could go down as the worst revenue month in the history of radio. When the government told businesses to close and the people to stay home, it also slammed the door shut on the U.S. economy.

Back in March GeoBroadcast Solutions filed a petition with the FCC asking that FM booster stations using its technology be allowed to originate limited programming content to provide zoned programming to a primary station’s service area. On Monday radio station owners filed comments in support of the petition.

Evening host Jim Isabella has been diagnosed with the virus and is now being treated in an Akron hospital. Isabella said he felt like he was getting the flu and was first tested for pneumonia before testing positive for coronavirus.

Edison Research and Triton Digital will be presenting their annual Infinite Dial data on March 19. On Tuesday, they leaked out a tidbit of information concerning radio.

iHeart executives have not said much publicly since announcing a "technology transformation and new organizational structure" last month that also included hundreds of programming layoffs. On the iHeartMedia Q4 earnings call Thursday night, CEO Bob Pittman and CFO Rich Bressler detailed exactly how the company plans to implement its strategy.
