Thanks to St. Louis’ 106.5 The Arch, a lot of troops will be hearing that this Christmas. The Arch’s Morning Show Spencer’s Neighborhood actually belied the name of their “2,000 Cards for the Troops” program – they collected over 13,000 holiday greetings for hospitalized veterans at St. Louis’ two Veteran’s Administration hospitals! In all, 13,641 holiday greetings were delivered to Jefferson Barracks and John Cochran facilities.
According to show host Spencer Graves, “We visited every in-patient veteran in both locations, and we were able to share several holiday greeting cards and letters with each of them, which we hope will brighten their hospital stay. We plan on sending the surplus cards and letters to other VAs, but our primary goal was to visit with and share the cards with our two local facilities and St. Louis veterans first.”
