(By Chris Stonick) That is an outstanding idea! According to the American Trucking Association, there are currently 90,000 open driver jobs in the country. By 2030, the shortage is projected to balloon to 160,000.
The massive increase will be due to four main factors:
- Retirements
- Drivers pushed out of the industry
- Industry growth
- Drivers leaving before retirement age
