Salem Media Group has introduced a new podcast, Retire Repurposed, available on its platform SeniorResource.com. The program takes an innovative approach to retirement, encouraging listeners to consider this phase not as the termination of their working life, but as a chance to apply their expertise, interests, and life experiences in a way that leaves a lasting impact.
Retire Repurposed is the brainchild of hosts Ben Taatjes, owner of Taatjes Financial Group, and Jerrid Sebesta, Director of Business Development for Taatjes Financial Group. Taatjes and Sebesta highlight the potentially hazardous nature of the transition to retirement, stating, “The two most dangerous years of a person’s life are the year they were born and the year they retire.” The program’s aim is to offer valuable guidance and motivation to assist listeners during this critical stage of life.
Taatjes has been a financial services industry professional for nearly 20 years, serving thousands of families and individuals through his retirement planning firm in west-central Minnesota. His commitment goes beyond financial figures and led him to publish his first book, Repurposed: The Untold Story of Retirement in America, in 2017. He also co-founded Retire Repurposed in 2019.
Sebesta, on the other hand, shifted his career from being a TV meteorologist for 12 years to the financial services industry in 2014. He leverages his broadcasting experience and passion for teaching to motivate people to live more purposeful, impactful, and liberated lives. Sebesta is a co-founder of Retire Repurposed and contributes to Taatjes Financial Group as the Director of Business Development.
