Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Inc has settled a trademark lawsuit against a podcast named Oprahdemics. The case, which was filed last year in New York, alleged that the podcast’s title could mislead listeners into thinking that Oprah had sponsored or approved of the show.
The lawsuit sought to force the show’s makers to stop using the Oprah name and capitalizing on her brand. The terms of the settlement are confidential, but the podcast’s creators said the matter had been “resolved to the mutual satisfaction of both parties”. The podcast is now listed as You Get A Podcast! on its website.
