A Reminder To Station Operators: Pay Your Licensing Fees

A judge has denied a dismissal in the case of Global Music Rights, a performance rights organization, against media companies Southern Stone Communications (Daytona, FL) and Black Crow Media Group (Valdosta, GA) for playing copyrighted songs on their radio stations without paying for licensing.

The case states that Southern Stone and Black Crow’s radio stations have played GMR songs thousands of times since January 2020 without authorization, despite being offered multiple opportunities to obtain a license. Both operators hoped the case would be let go, but now face the legal actions of working outside their music licenses.
