More of Radio Ink’s 2023 Best PDs in Country Radio are giving us their thoughts and insight from Country Radio Seminar 2023, which took place in Nashville last week.
Townsquare Albany’s Matty Jeff (WGNA) had lots to say about CRS. “As always, the sessions overall were very informative and also provided a great reset on best practices that win. The Maximizing Time With Artists [panel] was super informative. Getting great unique content from artists is an art form. Evan Paul and Buzz Brainard brought great idea starters to get artists engaged and share more in interviews.”
Like WSM-FM’s Charlie Cook, Jeff was also impressed with Lon Helton’s interview with Kenny Chesney. “I loved how Lon’s interview really dug into [Kenny’s] journey from newcomer to superstar. Kenny’s path to finding out who he was as an artist was a reminder to all of us as content creators that being authentic and following your passions is of the utmost importance.”
Marci Braun of Audacy Chicago’s WUSN added that she, “Loved everything about CRS this year. Tons of takeaways from the panels, lots of great new music, and catching up with friends I hadn’t seen in a while.”
I’m glad Marci could hang out with friends. I’m sure everyone at Audacy is just thrilled that this was a girls trip for Marci.
