The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has increased funding for the continuation of the Public Media Journalists Association Editor Corps. The grant will help the PMJA continue the program that provides editing assistance to public media newsrooms.

The $61,000 grant is on top of the $20,000 CPB provided to get the program started in April to provide much-needed relief to stations facing significant burdens during the pandemic. Additional funding has been provided by NPR, Public Radio Exchange and the Knight Foundation.

“As the election season heats up, we are thrilled and grateful that CPB has agreed to help us continue to offer this important assistance to stations through the end of the year,” said Terry Gildea, PMJA Executive Director.

Each day, editors are assigned to stations that request assistance. Editors are paid directly by the Editor Corps and are provided at no cost to the stations.
