So far, about 275 companies nationwide have publicly announced they would be giving bonuses to employees this year, thanks to a tax cut politicians in Washington recently passed. PodcastOne is jumping on the bonus bandwagon. Founder Norman Pattiz announced Tuesday that all full-time employees will be getting a $1,000 cash bonus.
Pattiz said, “There’s no question that cutting the corporate Federal Tax Rate to 21% will have a positive effect on business, ours included. We want our employees to feel the direct benefit of these cuts, especially since because of their efforts we are coming off another record year in 2017. So we say, ‘Thank you to our dedicated staff and job well done.’”
That seems paltry. You saved over 20% of your revenues and you’ve only given your employees pocket lint? That amounts to 2% for someone making 50k.
