Phoenix-based Johnjay Van Es co-hosts The Johnjay & Rich Show, and the publication was interested in how he has combined the power and reach of his nationally syndicated radio show with social media to find “forever homes” for more than 500 dogs with his #LovePup campaign. The campaign launched in 2015 and has garnered celebrity support from music artists like Selena Gomez, Zedd, and Enrique Iglesias.
“I would post pictures of them up on my Instagram and I would find homes for them right away. It just started evolving from that. It was never a burden. It was always fun and passionate and organic and real,” Johnjay told People.
