It’s called the Blacksmith’s Ride For Life and it’s another event that sees radio helping a worthy cause. Named for longtime Morning Buzz personality Andy Blacksmith, who passed away in June of 2015 due to heart disease, the ride saw 600 motorcyclists gather in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire. The event raised $22,000 for a number of organ and tissue donation organizations. The Greg & The Morning Buzz Radio show, heard on 100.3 WHEB, Portsmouth’s Rock Station, and Rock 101, Manchester’s Rock Station, saw to it that the inaugural Ride was a great success.

“Andy Blacksmith waited for years to receive a donor heart, but left us before receiving one. Because he was an organ donor, he saved the lives of five other people,” said Greg Kretschmar, on-air personality for the Greg & The Morning Buzz show. “The response from our listeners was incredible. Not only did we raise a considerable amount of money, but the event also brought awareness to the importance of organ donation.”
