It’s a story that sounds like modern fiction. Two high school wrestling teammates whose lives went in opposite directions – one became a drug trafficker, the other a DEA agent – only to come together again. Pin Kings was written and produced by ESPN The Magazine senior writer Brett Forrest and ESPN producer Jon Fish with the intention of releasing it via various media, including 16 podcasts. It debuted Monday, August 1.
“ESPN’s mission is to serve sports fans anytime, anywhere, and Pin Kings fits that mission by serving content to sports fans in every manner they consume it,” said Victor Vitarelli, senior coordinating producer, ESPN Features Unit. “This is new ground for us. We have never done an original programming cross-platform production of this magnitude.”
