Two Alpha Media stations in Savannah-Hilton Head, GA, have earned some bragging rights. Two of their personalities brought home honors from the Connect Savannah Readers’ Choice Awards on May 24. Tim Leary and the Morning Showgram from New Country BOB 106.9 (WUBB) received “Best Morning Radio Show” and Ryan Koch from Rock 106.1 (WFXH) won “Best Local Radio Personality.”
“[The awards] have great credibility, because the readers do the voting. It’s a very accurate picture of where they stand within the community, so that’s a great value,” stated Jim Morekis, Editor-in-Chief, Connect Savannah. “This is the best single snapshot of the most current trends in public opinion in our community, and a deeper look into the real workings of Savannah.”
Alpha Media VP/Market Manager, Gigi South commented on the announcement, “We are so grateful to the fans of BOB 106.9 and ROCK 106.1 who voted for Ryan, Tim, Red, and Claire. Our team really cares and does a lot of work in the community. These awards are great reminders that radio is an appreciated, constant companion.”
The personalities were clearly thrilled with the recognition.
