Doug Banks Memorial Set For Tomorrow
A memorial service will be held for syndicated host Doug Banks tomorrow at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral in Dallas. Banks died Monday of complications from diabetes. The New Pittsburgh Courrier reports that Banks lost a toe and an eye to the disease and was on dialysis. He continued to work though, making an appearance in Chicago the day before he died, at the Black Women’s Expo. Banks was 57.
Kicks 101.5 Brings Ali Mac To Atlanta
Country station Kicks 101.5 FM/WKHX-FM in Atlanta debuts a fresh new weekday lineup as of Tuesday. On-air personality Ali Mac comes on board as host from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. weekdays, while fellow personality CJ moves from middays to host the 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. show.
Country Dan Dixon Dead At 67
Dixon was known as "The Truckers Friend" on XM Channel 10 "America" from the sat-caster's first days on the air. In 2007, when Sirius and XM merged, Dan was one of many cut and the channel eliminated. Prior to his years on satellite radio, Dixon worked at WSDS Ypsilanti, MI, WNRS Ann Arbor, MI, WKCQ Saginaw, CKLW-FM Windsor, Ont., WDEE and WCXI Detroit, plus WTOD-AM and WKKO (K-100) Toledo.
