Longtime 96.9 The Eagle (KSEG-FM) Sacramento on-air veteran and current morning show host Charlie Thomas has announced his retirement. Thomas has been a station mainstay for more than 20 years.

The former News/Talk/Sports Editor for the defunct Radio & Records, Al Peterson has died. In a Facebook post the family said he died “A little over a week ago. Not from COVID”. He was 68.

The Current's new Music Director is Jade, who's been with The Current team since 2008, when she was overnight host. Now she can heard weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Current is an all-music, noncommercial, member-supported station from Minnesota Public Radio.

Executive VP of Programming Bill Tanner passed away at his home in Birmingham Wednesday night. Tanner's career spanned nearly five decades, programming stations from South Florida to Los Angeles. Tanner had been battling health issues for quite some time. He was 76.
CMG Appoints Rob Babin SVP Radio
Cox Media Group has appointed Rob Babin SVP for Radio. Babin will be responsible for CMG's 65 radio stations in 11 markets across the country. He's been with Cox for 20 years and replaces Bill Hendrich who retired at the end of 2020.

Fox News Media has signed civil rights lawyer Leo Terrell as a contributor. He will provide commentary and analysis across all platforms including Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.
Host Wins School Board Seat
The Birmingham Board of Education held a special election to fill a vacant seat. WJLD host Walter “Big Walt” Wilson won with more than 62 percent of the vote. Wilson received 480 out of 767 votes cast. WJLD AM/FM is owned by Richardson Broadcasting.
