Zellner Gets More Responsibility at iHeart

iHeartMedia announced on Thursday that Jon Zellner has been named President of Programming Operations and Digital Music for iHeartRadio. Zellner will manage the programming, content and strategy for iHeart's digital channels and playlists while continuing to oversee iHeartMedia’s programming operations at its 850 local radio stations.

Tim Spence is the new Director of Sports Operations for KTFM/KZDC, San Antonio Sports Star, 94.1 FM, 1250 AM. Spence was PD for KHOW, KCOL, and APD for KOA in Denver. He was also affiliate relations manager for the 140 station network for the Broncos and Rockies. 

D-Wayne Moves to NRG

NRG Media has hired D-Wayne Taylor as the new PD for RED 94.5. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Taylor replaces Tiago Rey, who left NRG to work for Univision in Houston in their creative services department.

KXXM-FM (96.1 NOW) San Antonio host Russell Rush has died. We reported last week that Rush had been in home hospice care following a lengthy battle with t-cell lymphoma. Rush was 44.

Mike Miller To Oversee 7 Stations Now

iHeartMedia in Central PA has announced that Mike Miller is the new Vice President of Programming for Harrisburg and Lancaster. The cluster has seven stations. Miller will also be responsible for daily programming duties at Bob 94.9 and Real 99.3.

Cole to Allentown

iHeartMedia Allentown announced Friday that Derrick Cole has been named Program Director for WAEB-FM (B-104). Cole joins the Allentown market from iHeartMedia’s National Program Group, where he most recently served as the CHR PD.
