Jim Hampton, from KKIQ and KKDV (East Bay) helped fundraising efforts for the Taylor Family Foundation at the Day in the Park auction fundraiser in Livermore, CA. All proceeds go directly to funding the Foundation’s mission of providing wellness programs for Northern California kids with life-threatening chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities.

The 2016 Radio Ink Radio Wayne Awards will be handed out Thursday, September 22nd at the Advertiser Breakfast at The Radio Show in Nashville. The Radio Wayne awards identify radio's best salespeople and managers and are named after Wayne Cornils, who worked for the RAB for many years and was one of radio’s greatest ambassadors. Beasley Media Group in Charlotte has hired Jeff Anderson as Operations Manager/PD of Hip-Hop station WPEG/Power 98 and Urban AC WBAV/V101.9. Anderson began his radio career with Beasley WZFX-FM, Fayetteville, NC, more than two decades ago.

The syndicated morning show begins on Alpha's WXYY on September 6, replacing a music-only morning show.

The interview-driven podcast is called How I Built This. Host Guy Raz will explore the beginnings of familiar brands like Clif Bar, Sam Adams Beer, Instagram and Patagonia, focusing on the early, and often difficult, years of building a business from the ground up.

The FCC is proposing a penalty of $15,000 for Wilner Lundi for repeatedly operating pirate radio stations at 91.5 and 104.7 MHz in Lake Worth, Florida. In this NAL, The Commission wrote, "Mr. Lundi’s deliberate disregard of the Commission’s warning warrants a significant penalty." Lundi was cited in 2013 for a station in Delray Beach and last year for a station in Lake Worth.

Keeping an eye on radio's largest advertising category, sales figures are in for the month of August, which show the pace of auto sales decelerated sharply. Retail sales have fallen in four of the past six months, after rising for 66 straight months.

Trey Radel is returning to the radio station (92.5 Fox News Radio) in Fort Myers where he hosted a show before winning a seat in Congress in 2012. Radel resigned in disgrace after trying to purchase cocaine from an undercover agent in Washington, DC.
