President Donald Trump and others have been critical of the news media lately and jumping on the currently popular phrase “fake news,” after Facebook was hit with a slew of criticism for allowing fake news stories to build on the social media site. The NAB wants everyone to know its member stations can be trusted. Here’s how…

NAB ran this ad in Politico Wednesday highlighting broadcasters’ role as the place get the facts without an agenda. NAB has also launched a campaign called “We Are Broadcasters” that encourages member stations to carry :15 and :30 second radio and television spots. They are produced in both English and Spanish. NAB Says, “The campaign seeks to differentiate the credibility of local broadcasters’ news coverage versus our cable, satellite or streaming competitors.”
