WOGL is CBS Radio's Greatest Hits station in Philadelphia where Nicky G lands the Music Director's job. He's been with WOGL since 2012 as weekday fill-in and weekend host.

Curtis Media Group has appointed veteran programmer Tim Maranville as Director of Programming for WBBB-FM in Raleigh-Durham. Maranville has worked in San Francisco, Phoenix, and Denver and also served as VP of Programming for CBS Radio in San Francisco.

The Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group announced it has formed an alliance with Marketron to establish the “MIW Rising Star Award,” in honor and memory of Renée Roth, Marketron’s long-time VP of International Sales. The award will go to the top scoring scholarship recipient from the Rising Through the Ranks program. Beasley Tampa GSM Erika Beasley (pictured here) will take home the inaugural award.

The San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association has merged all of its membership into the Southern California Broadcasters Association. The SCBA’s new combined membership of 168 radio stations now covers 56,000 square miles of Southern California, reaching 15.5 million radio listeners every week.

The Christian radio network will now use StreamGuys across its 17 radio stations for ad insertion, audience measurement, and statistical reporting software to support its live broadcast streams.

Community Broadcasters is moving Lance Hale up the chain of command. He's been promoted to Director of Rock Programming for the company's entire group of radio stations.

Forbes and PodcastOne are launching the Forbes on PodcastOne network. The deal includes joint efforts in podcast development and production, as well as distribution, promotion, marketing, and advertising sales.

The Tony Kornheiser Show will return return Tuesday, September 6, as a daily podcast. Kornheiser will be joined by longtime show regulars from the worlds of sports, politics, and news, as well as special guests from his old radio show.

After Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan, Paul Brenner is the face behind NextRadio. It's Brenner's job to get NextRadio in the hands of every consumer by getting NextRadio on every smartphone. Smulyan says, "Paul is not only a brilliant technologist, but a terrific leader and partner who is making a difference in the lives of every broadcaster." Brenner is the cover story interview in the current issue of Radio Ink magazine. Brenner tells the story of a meeting with Apple's Steve Jobs that did not go as well as it could have.

That's the opinion of Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters President Saul Levine who sent his thoughts on the recent Media Ownership ruling to the FCC in a letter. Levine thanked Chairman Wheeler for his courage in limiting further consolidation.
