Mayor Gets Approval To Host Show
A State Ethics Commission has granted Cranston Mayor Allan Fung permission to fill in on WPRO in Providence. Fung, who can’t run for reelection due to term limits, will fill in when WPRO hosts are on vacation or sick. He'll be paid $50 for a three-hour show.
Minihane In Trouble Again
It didn't take former Entercom Boston sports host Kirk Minihane long to get himself into trouble at his new job. Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone has filed a lawsuit against Minihane and Barstool Sports after Minihane recorded Curtatone for an interview claiming he was a reporter with the Boston Globe.
Radio Summit Is A Texas First
The inaugural Texas Country Radio Summit will take place at the Sheraton Fort Worth Downtown in Fort Worth, TX, Sept. 23. Panels throughout the day will feature some of the top artists and radio programmers sharing ideas and educating attendees.

Digital Slowing But Still Booming
According to MAGNA's latest global ad revenue projections, digital advertising revenue will grow 14% this year, to $304 billion, representing more than half of the total global advertising economy for the first time (51%). Digital had been growing 18% to 20% the previous four years.
Houston Police Turn To Radio To Inform Public
The Houston Police Department is launching a Spanish-language radio show today. The weekly one-hour show will air on Spanish-language Christian station 98.3 FM. The program will cover subjects like family violence, immigration and drunk driving and will end with a Q&A call-in segment.
Alpha’s Good Deed In Texas
Alpha's 93.1 Katy Country and Classic of Texoma raised $44,500 from its 3rd annual Wheeler & Castellanos Back the Badge Memorial Golf Tournament. The money is donated to the Texoma Back the Badge Foundation, which assists in minimizing the financial burden often placed on law enforcement employees who experience catastrophic circumstances.
