Awards For WBAL
The Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association has honored WBAL NewsRadio with four awards. The CAPBA selected the Hearst station entries out of more than 280 entries from stations in Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC and Northern Virginia.

Kenyon Wins Lifetime Achievment Award
Entercom Detroit Market Manager Debbie Kenyon was recently presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Kenyon joins a group of only 31 other broadcasters honored with this award since 1989.

FCC Says No To Chinese Broadcasts
On Monday, the FCC dismissed an application to deliver Mandarin Chinese programming from a studio in Irwindale, California to XEWW-AM in Mexico for rebroadcast back into the U.S. Some people, including Senator Ted Cruz, believe the station is a propaganda arm of the Chinese government.
Streaming Hits 10%
From its latest Share of Ear update in May, Edison Research is reporting that consumers are tapping into radio station streams more than ever. Total listening through an online stream is now at 10% for the first time.
